The Everydayer — “Auburn Needs Help To Win This Game” (Thursday, October 29, 2026)

The Everydayer Newsletter, Morning News masthead, October 29, 2026

Good morning, Everydayers, and thank you for another day of our 10 Million View Celebration week. Today’s LOOM Flagship crosses over with Locked On Auburn, and Ole Miss legend Bill Flowers has a warning about the Auburn quarterback.

🏈 Legend Speaks: Bill Flowers

Ole Miss legend Bill Flowers joined Locked On Ole Miss on Wednesday, and he didn’t blame Trinidad Chambliss for the first half in Austin. He blamed Will Muschamp’s plan: “Every play that you could possibly run, he had it covered.” His split of the night: “I’m giving the first half to Will Muschamp, and the second half I give it to John David.”

Flowers wants a “bulky old school” 4-3 look in the bag for run downs: “If you’ve got a tool in your tool bag and you’re not willing to use it, that’s your fault.” And his worry for Saturday is Byrum Brown deciding to run first: “He’s going to run all over us.”

Flowers’s final score for Saturday is his alone, so it stays out of this newsletter. He says he’ll be at the game.

☕ Morning Coffee

“Auburn needs help to win this game.”

That’s Zac Blackerby of Locked On Auburn on today’s LOOM Flagship, a crossover that took Ole Miss vs. Auburn from both sides. Three things from the show:

  • Auburn needs help. Zac Blackerby’s path for Auburn is the one it rode to Athens: start fast, find an identity, and get everyone on defense to “play out of their mind.” But he said it plainly: “Auburn needs help to win this game.” That means a Chambliss turnover, a fumble or bad Ole Miss penalties.
  • Chambliss is the storyline. He was 6 of 18 with two interceptions in the first half at Texas. Steven can forgive what Muschamp did and the drops. The open misses are the worry: “It’s the open misses, the opportunities to make plays against good teams. That will come back to bite you every single time.”
  • Oxford is a different building. Ole Miss has won 15 straight at home and lost three there since 2021. Steven’s line: “The Vaught-Hemingway Stadium that Auburn fans are just so used to going into, that doesn’t exist right now.” Zac agreed: “That has dramatically changed.”
