Good morning, Everydayers. It’s Monday of Auburn week. Ole Miss lost 34-27 at Texas, fell to No. 12, and still controls its own season. Today’s LOOM Flagship has three things we learned in Austin, Kewan Lacy’s shoulder and who picks up the slack, and this week’s SEC lines.
☕ Morning Coffee
“Ole Miss lost to Texas and still has every goal in front of it. What it doesn’t have anymore is one single game to spare.”
That’s Steven’s open on today’s LOOM Flagship. Three things we learned at Texas:
- Every goal is still there. Ole Miss is 5-2 and 3-2 in the SEC, and four of its last five games are in Oxford, where it has won 15 straight and is 38-3 since 2021. Trinidad Chambliss said it after the game: “Now we’ve got to win out.” Win five straight and Ole Miss is a two-loss team with a win over Georgia.
- This team fights to the end. Down 24-3 at halftime in front of 104,306, Ole Miss scored 21 straight points to tie it. Blake Purchase strip-sacked Arch Manning and Kam Franklin fell on it in the end zone, Jalyn Crawford picked off Manning twice, and Horatio Fields caught two touchdown passes. Ole Miss recovered an onside kick and got to a final Hail Mary.
- The least clean game of the season. Chambliss went 25 of 52 for 250 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions, a career high, including one on fourth-and-goal at the Texas 2 before halftime. He ran for seven yards, his third straight game under 10. Steven’s fix: put his legs back in the plan.

🏅 LOOM Player of the Game: Jalyn Crawford

Two interceptions of Arch Manning, the first Rebel with two in a game since 2023, plus four tackles. Crawford now has four career interceptions.
🃏 Player Cards

Trinidad Chambliss: 250 passing yards and two touchdowns at Texas, and a touchdown pass in his 20th straight game. Only Chad Kelly, with 22, has a longer streak in school history.

Horatio Fields: two touchdown catches in the comeback, including the 27-yarder that tied the game at 24. That’s four touchdowns on the season.
🩹 Kewan Lacy’s Shoulder
Kewan Lacy was carted off in the third quarter with what Pete Golding called “the same shoulder” he hurt against LSU. There’s no update yet. Makhi Frazier (101 yards against Missouri, 47 on six carries at Texas) is the lead back if Lacy can’t go, with Shekai Mills-Knight as the change of pace. Steven’s line: “Ole Miss does not need to replace Kewan Lacy with one player. It needs to replace him with the plan.”

🏈 The Numbers
- 21: straight points Ole Miss scored to tie it at 24 after trailing 24-3 at halftime
- 104,306: the crowd at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, the fourth-largest in its history
- 7: Chambliss’s rushing yards, his third straight game under 10
- 20: straight games with a Chambliss touchdown pass, second in school history to Chad Kelly’s 22
- 15: straight home wins for Ole Miss, with four of the last five games in Oxford
