Sixteen straight home wins ended in roughly twenty minutes of football. No. 2 Georgia scored four first-half touchdowns, led 28-0 at the break and beat No. 10 Ole Miss 42-7 on Saturday night at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The Bulldogs move to 8-1 and 6-1 in the SEC. The Rebels drop to 6-3, 4-3.
The Score
Georgia 42, Ole Miss 7 — Georgia 14-14-7-7, Ole Miss 0-0-0-7
Who Did It
- Horatio Fields — eight catches for 96 yards, career highs in both
- Shekai Mills-Knight — 52 yards on 13 touches and the Rebels’ only touchdown, an 8-yard run
- Trinidad Chambliss — 18-of-34 for 170 yards with an interception and a lost fumble

How It Went
Georgia needed seven plays to go 72 yards on its opening possession, Craig Dandridge Jr. finishing it with a 4-yard run. The next drive took four plays and 96 yards, Gunner Stockton hitting Talyn Taylor for 58 yards and a 14-0 lead. Lucas Carneiro’s answer from 56 yards missed with 3:59 left in the first quarter.
The second quarter went the same way. Stockton found Ethan Barbour from three yards out to cap a nine-play, 61-yard march, then ran in a 15-yarder himself at the end of a seven-play, 50-yard drive. Georgia’s 28-0 lead could have been bigger — a 49-yard field goal attempt as the half expired missed.
A Chambliss fumble handed Georgia the ball at the Ole Miss 22 with 4:35 left in the third, and five plays later Taylor caught his second touchdown, a 6-yarder, for 35-0. KJ Bolden had already picked Chambliss off and returned it 26 yards.
Ole Miss finally put together its best possession of the night to open the fourth: 16 plays, 75 yards, 5:54 off the clock, Mills-Knight in from eight yards and Carneiro’s kick making it 35-7. Georgia answered in three plays and 75 yards, Taylor taking a 65-yard throw from Stockton for his third score of the game. Peyton Woodring was 7-for-7 on extra points.
Oscar Bird had one of the better Rebel moments available on a night like this, a 49-yard punt that pinned Georgia at its own 4, and later dropped another inside the 10.
The Numbers
Georgia outgained Ole Miss 481 yards to 252, and the gap was almost entirely on the ground — 295 rushing yards to 66. Through the air the two were even at 186 apiece. Georgia held the ball 34:41 to the Rebels’ 25:19 and led in first downs 23-19. Ole Miss was charged 50 penalty yards to Georgia’s 16. Jaylon Braxton and Suntarine Perkins each had a tackle for loss.
