Every Georgia preview has Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs walking into Oxford looking for revenge. Here’s the part they leave out: Smart has never beaten Ole Miss outside of Athens, and Pete Golding’s Rebels haven’t lost at Vaught-Hemingway in 16 straight games.
So on Saturday night, you’re not watching this one alone. Steven Willis and the SEC After Dark crew are going live on the Locked On Ole Miss YouTube channel at 6:15 p.m. CT, 15 minutes before kickoff, for a full Ole Miss vs. Georgia watch-along. CFP No. 2 Georgia (7-1) at CFP No. 10 Ole Miss (6-2, 4-2 SEC), 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
What the watch-along is
Think of it as the group chat with a host. We react to every big swing as it happens, keep you posted on scores from around the SEC (Kentucky-Tennessee and Oklahoma-Florida both overlap with our game), put your comments on screen, and stay on after the final whistle for instant postgame reaction and what the result means for the playoff picture.
Everydayers already know more about this team than most fans in that stadium. Saturday night, you get to prove it in real time.
What’s on the line
- No. 17. Ole Miss has won 16 straight at Vaught-Hemingway. A 17th is a program record, and it would come against the No. 2 team in the College Football Playoff rankings.
- Chambliss and Chad Kelly. Trinidad Chambliss has thrown a touchdown pass in 21 straight games. One more ties Chad Kelly’s program record of 22.
- Kirby away from Athens. Kirby Smart is 3-0 against Ole Miss in Athens and 0-2 everywhere else: 28-10 in Oxford in 2024, and 39-34 in the Sugar Bowl.
- A coin flip, by our numbers. The LOOM model has Georgia by 0.1 points. That’s as close to even as a top-10 matchup gets.
