Good morning, Everydayers. It’s Georgia week in Oxford. No. 2 Georgia comes to Vaught-Hemingway on Saturday night at 7:30 ET — a Sugar Bowl rematch, under the lights, with the Rebels’ playoff position riding on it. Kickoff is three days out. Here’s everything moving across Ole Miss sports this morning, football first. Hotty Toddy.
On the Latest Locked On Ole Miss
On Tuesday’s show, Steven broke down Pete Golding’s Monday presser — and Golding basically handed over the blueprint for beating Georgia: stop the run on early downs, erase the explosive plays, win the critical downs and make the Bulldogs drive the length of the field. That’s exactly how Ole Miss won the Sugar Bowl. The hard news is that Kewan Lacy isn’t expected to play, so it’s Shekai Mills-Knight and Trinidad Chambliss leading the run game again. And Kirby Smart spent 15 minutes on Chambliss, calling him pinpoint accurate with anticipation that’s “probably unmatched.” Georgia respects this Ole Miss team — and Smart said the thing that scares him most is Oxford at night.
