UNIVERSITY RELEASE — Originally published by Ole Miss Athletics, Oct. 30, 2026.
Ole Miss opened its final home stretch of the regular season on Friday night at the Gillom Athletics Performance Center and never found a rhythm at the net. Mississippi State took the match 25-17, 25-18, 25-16 for a 3-0 sweep. The Rebels fall to 8-13 overall and 2-8 in the SEC. The Bulldogs move to 16-5 and 6-4.
Set Scores
Mississippi State 3, Ole Miss 0 — 25-17, 25-18, 25-16 (Mississippi State’s score first)
Who Did It
- Shayla Meyer — seven kills and three blocks, the team lead in kills
- Jaidyn Hartsfield — five kills and three blocks
- Ryea Jackson — four kills and five blocks, the team lead in blocks
- Keirstyn Carlton — four kills and four blocks
The Margins
The hitting line decided it. Mississippi State put down 41 kills against 16 errors and hit .245. Ole Miss managed 27 kills against 21 errors and hit .057. The Bulldogs won the assist column 40-27 and the service column 5-1 on aces.
The one column the Rebels won, they won decisively: nine team blocks to two. Four Ole Miss players put up three or more, and the front row was the part of the night that worked. It could not offset a 41-27 deficit in kills, or 21 Ole Miss errors across three sets.
