Ole Miss took two of three singles matches on Tuesday, the second day of qualifying at the ITF W15 Sumter tournament in Sumter, South Carolina.
Results
- Alice Soulié def. Olivia De Los Reyes, 6-2, 6-4
- Alice Battesti def. Panna Bartha, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7)
- Léna Thomas Iglesias fell in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1
How It Went
Soulié handled hers in straight sets, breaking clear in the first and holding on through a tighter second.
Battesti’s was the long one. She lost the opening set 3-6, answered by taking the second 6-3, and then had to win it in a match tiebreak, closing it out 10-7.
Iglesias was the one who did not get through, losing 6-2, 6-1.
