Alabama, LSU and Texas all carry two losses, and a third would end their playoff cases. Texas lost by three to both Oklahoma and Florida, and has given up 27 points in each of the past two weeks. The Longhorns have also failed to cover as a favorite in five straight games. Alabama scored 48, 45, 50, 49 and 56 points in its first five weeks, then 27 total in its last two, losing by 16 at Tennessee.
Locked On Ole Miss host Steven Willis built Saturday’s show around how quickly that math turns. Willis said Alabama and Texas are each one loss from over, and that all three could be finished by Halloween. The handicapper from Locked On Bets added LSU, noting an expanded playoff field arrives next season but a third loss this year is fatal.
Locked On Bets leaned Auburn at home against LSU, which has not won an SEC road game since 2024. Auburn beat Georgia 27-24 last week as nearly a 20-point underdog. Willis argued Auburn needed that win after five down years in the program.
The show also took South Carolina over Tennessee and Vanderbilt at Kentucky. South Carolina beat Florida by 19 as a double-digit underdog, while Tennessee has scored 26, 24 and 24 and has beaten only Arkansas and Auburn besides Alabama. Kentucky is favored in an SEC game for the first time this season after four straight wins as an underdog.
Locked On Bets took Ole Miss as a road underdog, saying it does not trust Texas yet. Ole Miss has held Vanderbilt and Missouri to 20 points combined over the past two weeks. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. Central on ABC, and a Texas loss would make it the first of those three out of room.
