The Score
Aggregate: Ole Miss 4723, Georgia Southern 4717
Six Points
Six points across two events and five shooters is as close as this season has been. Georgia Southern came into Oxford carrying an air rifle team average of 2386.5, the best mark in the nation, and a 5-2 record whose only blemishes were against then-No. 2 Kentucky and No. 1 West Virginia. The Eagles had not faced Ole Miss since 2023.
The Rebels won anyway, and they did it one week after putting up the highest aggregate in program history.
What the Rebels Brought In
Ole Miss arrived at 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the Patriot Rifle Conference, having climbed to No. 2 in the latest CRCA rankings behind only West Virginia. The 4747 aggregate the Rebels shot in their last outing at Air Force set a program record, edging the 4746 from the 2025 PRC Championships.
Audrey Gogniat came in averaging a 1188.5 aggregate, fourth nationally, and had posted the top air rifle score in each of her last six events. Regan Diamond had set a career-best 591 in smallbore and Jordan de Jesus a career-high 593.
