Good morning, Everydayers. We’re two days from kickoff in Austin, where No. 7 Ole Miss (5-1) walks into Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday night to face a wounded but still dangerous No. 19 Texas. The Rebels roll in off a 31-3 dismantling of Missouri and a defense that’s suddenly traveling, and Pete Golding’s crew gets its toughest road test of the year under the lights on ABC. Two days, Rebels. Let’s get into it. Hotty Toddy.
On the Latest Locked On Ole Miss
On Wednesday’s Flagship, Steven Willis made the case that the biggest gift on Ole Miss’s board is a Texas pass rush that may be without Colin Simmons — the Longhorn who owns 10.5 of the team’s 19 sacks. Give Trinidad Chambliss a clean pocket, Steven argued, and “he is going to find somebody.” From there he broke down why Will Echoles is the single hardest man on the Rebel defense to block, and warned that this is still an over-talented Texas team — a 3.5-point home favorite (FanDuel, as of Sunday) that sat at No. 1 in the country just 11 days ago.

Chambliss headlines the attack as a dual threat with Lacy and the receivers around him, while Will Echoles anchors a defense that has to slow a reeling Texas offense that keeps stalling on third down.
