Thirty-Seven Kills, Sixteen Errors: Volleyball Swept at Home by Georgia

UNIVERSITY RELEASE — Originally published by Ole Miss Athletics, Oct. 16, 2026.

Ole Miss came home to the Gillom Athletics Performance Center on Friday night, matched Georgia kill for kill, and was swept anyway, falling 3-0 to open an SEC homestand. The Rebels drop to 8-9 overall and 2-4 in the SEC; Georgia moves to 13-3 and 5-1.

Set Scores

Georgia 3, Ole Miss 0 — 25-20, 25-19, 25-17

Who Did It

  • Jorda Crook — 10 kills and four digs, the Rebels’ kill leader
  • Jaidyn Hartsfield — seven kills and an ace
  • Keirstyn Carlton — six kills on .500 hitting and a block
  • Shayla Meyer — six kills and a block
  • Ryea Jackson — a kill and a block in the opening set
  • Vivianna Samaniego — an ace in the second set

The Margins

The kill columns were a single swing apart — 38 for Georgia, 37 for Ole Miss — and the match was still a sweep, which puts the whole night in the error column. Georgia made seven attack errors on 81 attempts and hit .383. Ole Miss made 16 on 93 attempts and hit .226.

That spread shows up everywhere downstream: 51 points to 43, 35 assists to 33, eight aces to four, five team blocks to two. Georgia’s Bianna Muoneke carried the Bulldogs with 19 kills, more than any two Rebels combined.

The second set is the one worth keeping. Ole Miss hit .347 in it — comfortably its best stretch of the night, with a pair of Hartsfield kills and a Samaniego ace in the middle of it — and still lost it 25-19. Hartsfield added two more kills and an ace in the third.

Up Next

The homestand continues against South Carolina on Sunday, Oct. 18. First serve is noon CT on SEC Network.
