UNIVERSITY RELEASE — Originally published by Ole Miss Athletics, Oct. 13, 2026.
No. 20 Ole Miss women’s golf shot the best round anyone managed all week at the Illini Women’s Invitational and still finished a stroke short. The Rebels closed with a field-best 11-under 277 on Tuesday at Medinah Country Club, finished at 23-under 841 and took second, one shot behind Indiana’s 24-under 840.
The Closing Round
- Round one: 5-under 283
- Round two: 7-under 281
- Round three: 11-under 277 — the best round in the field
- 54-hole total: 23-under 841
- Finish: runner-up, one stroke behind Indiana at 24-under 840
Ole Miss went into the final round fourth and four strokes back. Each round was better than the one before it — 283, then 281, then 277 — and the last of them was enough to climb two places but not quite enough to catch Indiana.
The Individual Leaderboard
- Mary Miller — 11-under 205, tied for third, after a 3-under 69 to close
- Sophie Linder (competing as an individual) — 6-under 210, 11th
- Matilda Björkman — 5-under 211, tied for 12th
- Kajsalotta Svarvar — 4-under 212, tied for 14th
- Ebba Lundqvist — 3-under 213, tied for 17th
- Lisa Herman — 3-over 219, tied for 45th, after a 2-under 70
Miller opened the week with a career-low 7-under 65 and never left the top five, moving from fourth after 36 holes to a tie for third at 11-under.
Lundqvist Got Better Every Day
The freshman’s three rounds read 76, 69 and a career-best 68 — eight strokes better on the last day than on the first. The 68 was the low Rebel round of the closing day, and it came on the same afternoon the team posted the best number in the field.
Up Next
That closes the fall. Ole Miss opens the spring schedule Jan. 31-Feb. 2 at the Grand Reservation Dominican Republic Classic in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
