Ole Miss lost 1-0 at Georgia on Friday at the Turner Soccer Complex in Athens, keeping the hosts off the scoreboard for more than 73 minutes before a single unassisted strike settled it. The Rebels fall to 7-7-0 overall and 0-6-0 in the SEC. Georgia moves to 5-3-5 and 2-1-3 in conference play.

How It Went

For 73 minutes the match stayed level, which on the night was the whole of the Ole Miss case. Then Georgia’s Hailey Gordon scored unassisted at 73:19 — her first goal of the season — and that was the margin.

Anna Claire Jacobi went the full 90 in goal and made six saves, five more stops than her counterpart was asked for. Ole Miss managed four shots all evening and put one of them on target. After the goal went in, the Rebels did not register a shot over the final 16 minutes.

Ava Ghoreishi led the attack with two shots, including the lone Ole Miss attempt on frame. Allison Kolski played all 90 as well, pushing her season total to 1,260 minutes.
