Terez Davis has spent four games at left tackle for Ole Miss, and on Tuesday the junior from Maryland described the open week in the plainest terms possible. Coming out of a 52-28 loss at Florida, the Rebels did not install anything. They hit people.
“It was a hard 2 practices. You know, we really just put kind of the plays away, game plan away, and just went out there and was hitting people, you know, getting back to the basics, footwork, stuff like that, just mental cleanup.”

🎯 What Vanderbilt Brings On Third Down
Davis has already been through the Vanderbilt tape, and the thing he named first was pressure. The Commodores send numbers on third down, and they do it to make an offensive line think.
“They’re physical, you know, on 3rd down, they run a lot of blitzes, you know, they like to bring 7, 8 on 3rd down to confuse you. They run a lot of twists and stuff like that. So, you know, we just gotta be prepared. They have 2 pretty good edges that we also gotta be prepared for. They’re good inside too, got good size.”

That is the matchup that decides how much of the game Trinidad Chambliss gets to play on schedule. Seven or eight rushers on third down is a bet that the protection breaks before the quarterback finds the open man. Davis made clear the line knows the bet is coming.
🔁 The Right Tackle Answer
Pete Golding said Monday that Ole Miss has rotated Tommy Kinsler IV and Connor Howes at right tackle and that it has “multiple guys that could play winning football” at the position. Davis, who lines up on the other end of the same line, was asked about Howes.
“He’s been doing a great job. You know, Connor was here last year, so he kind of got the opportunity like me to learn from guys like Diego and Jayden. So I feel like, you know, he was ready for the moment when his name got called.”

Diego Pounds and Jayden Williams were the two starting tackles on last season’s Playoff team, and both are now in the NFL. Davis was describing an apprenticeship that is already paying off on the right side.
🎞️ Every Series, In Front Of Everybody
Golding put the whole roster in one room to watch the Florida tape series by series, offense, defense and special teams together. Davis said the point landed.
“It was big on accountability. You know, everyone gets to see, you know, what’s on the tape, what you put on tape. So, you know, everyone, you kind of sitting here, you know, you’re looking around, just, you just want to make sure, you know, what you’re putting on tape is good and you’re holding the guy next to you accountable.”

“When I mess up, I know I’m better than that. I just go 10 times harder the next play.”

He backed it up on Tuesday. Davis said the rip in his practice jersey happened that day, during a short-yardage period. “I was definitely getting after it today.”
