Landreth Wins Again, Milburn Falls in Three: Men’s Tennis Day Two in Nashville

Ole Miss men’s tennis was back on court in Nashville on Saturday for day two of the Black and Gold Invitational, and senior Mason Landreth kept his weekend clean. Landreth won his singles match in straight sets for the second day in a row. Junior Kai Milburn, who had not dropped a set on Friday, this time went the distance with a Vanderbilt opponent before losing in three.

Singles

Landreth opened the day against Vanderbilt’s Roshan Santhosh and took the first set 6-4, then pulled away in the second for a 6-2 finish and a straight-set win.

Milburn drew Vanderbilt’s Donghyun Hwang and lost the opening set 6-3. He answered by taking the second set by the same 6-3 margin, but Hwang closed out the third 6-4 to take the match.

  • Donghyun Hwang (Vanderbilt) def. Kai Milburn, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4

Doubles

Milburn and Landreth teamed up again afterward, this time against Hwang and Leonardo Ljubicic. The Commodore pair took it 6-3, ending the Rebel duo’s unbeaten run in doubles for the weekend.
