Ole Miss had the ball, the shots and the corners on Sunday afternoon. Texas had the goals. The Longhorns scored 70 seconds into the match and again just past the hour, and the Rebels lost 2-0 at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium despite finishing with a 16-13 edge in shots. Ole Miss falls to 7-5-0 and 0-4-0 in the SEC; Texas moves to 6-2-3 and 1-1-2.

How It Went
The match was barely a minute old when it turned. Anderson finished off a Riggins assist at 1:10, and Ole Miss spent the rest of the afternoon chasing it.
The response came quickly, and it came in a cluster. Over a five-minute stretch the Rebels forced Flynn into three saves — Teaghan Irvin in the 17th minute, Granno in the 18th, Maizy Kluksdal in the 22nd. Jenna Studer, Isabella Pontieri and Ryann Reynolds added attempts of their own, and Ole Miss carried a 9-6 shot advantage into halftime still trailing 1-0.
Ava Ghoreishi tested Flynn again in the 54th minute. Flynn saved that one too, and at 61:34 McDonald doubled the lead off a Geesbreght assist.
Two down with half an hour left, Ole Miss kept coming forward and earned four corner kicks over the final 25 minutes. Bella Leonard produced the last Rebel attempt on target in the 81st minute, and Flynn turned it aside for her fifth save of the day.
The final margins tell the story of the afternoon: Ole Miss won the shot count 16-13 and the corner count 7-4, and both teams put exactly five attempts on goal. Granno led the Rebels with three shots, with Evie Ewing, Ghoreishi and Reynolds recording two apiece.
