The Rebels are 3-0, 1-0 in the SEC and fresh off a top-10 win over LSU that pushed them into the top five and turned Trinidad Chambliss into the name everyone is saying out loud for the Heisman. Three things from yesterday’s show:
- Trinidad Chambliss is the best player in college football right now, and I am not hedging it anymore. Magisterial is the word: a man in complete command. 363 passing yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown run against a top-10 LSU defense.
- The defense is this season’s swing factor. It held LSU to 330 yards, then gave up 17 straight. Keep playing with fire and you are going to get burned — Florida’s offense is the test that tells us which version is real.
- Ole Miss is 4th, 3-0, and still a road underdog Saturday. This stretch is about where the Rebels play in January — a January game in Oxford, or a January game on an airplane. Go get the second one.
Ole Miss Climbs to No. 4 in the AP Top 25

The Rebels jumped four spots to No. 4 in the new AP poll after taking down LSU, picking up three first-place votes and standing as the only team in the country with wins over two currently ranked opponents. The SEC put 10 teams in the poll. Ole Miss is 3-0, 1-0 in league play, with its biggest test still ahead. (NCAA.com)

Ole Miss heads to The Swamp on Saturday (3:30 ET) to face Jon Sumrall’s undefeated Gators. Florida is averaging better than 50 points a game behind running back Jadan Baugh, who already has 458 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. Kewan Lacy a Game-Time Decision for Florida

Pete Golding said running back Kewan Lacy’s shoulder, hurt against LSU, “wasn’t nearly as bad as we thought” once the MRI came back, and tagged him a game-time decision for Saturday. Lacy ran nine times for 43 yards and a touchdown before leaving the LSU game, and Ole Miss leaned on the pass the rest of the night. (Yahoo Sports)
Chambliss Vaults to Heisman Favorite

After his 363-yard, three-touchdown night at LSU, Trinidad Chambliss has climbed to the top of the Heisman board — the +300 favorite on FanDuel through three games, with seven passing touchdowns and two more on the ground. Ole Miss Jumps to No. 3 in SEC Power Rankings

Rebels Turn LSU Win Into Recruiting Momentum
