TOLEDO, Ohio — The No. 19 Ole Miss men’s golf team closed the Inverness Intercollegiate in 17th place, signing for an 11-over 295 in Tuesday’s final round to finish the tournament at 49-over 901.
The Finish
The final round was the Rebels’ best of the week — 295 after a 299 on Sunday and a 307 on Monday — but it came from too far back to change the standing. Ole Miss had opened the tournament tied for 12th and slid to 17th after 36 holes; that is where it stayed.
Trolio’s Day
Collins Trolio gave Ole Miss the low round of the day, an even-par 71 that he built after early bogeys by making four birdies the rest of the way. It matched the low Rebel round of the tournament — Cooper Claycomb’s opening 71 on Sunday — and moved Trolio to a tie for 59th at 11-over.
Claycomb Leads the Team
Claycomb closed with a 5-over 76 and still finished as the Rebels’ low man, tied for 36th at 8-over. He was the only Ole Miss player to keep his 54-hole total in single digits, and after that even-par start on Sunday, his debut week ends as the best of the five.
The Rest of the Card
- Eduardo Matarazzo — 2-over 73, tied for 67th at 13-over
- Tomas Restrepo — 4-over 75, 83rd at 17-over
- Finn Meister — 5-over 76, tied for 86th at 22-over
