UNIVERSITY RELEASE — Originally published by Ole Miss Athletics, Aug. 19, 2026.

Ole Miss soccer makes its second road trip of the young season Thursday, traveling to Charleston, South Carolina, to face the College of Charleston. Kickoff is 7 p.m. CT.

Quick Kicks

  • Sunday’s win at Louisiana made Todd Shulenberger the first coach in program history to start his Ole Miss tenure 2-0.
  • Isabella Pontieri and Paxton Bock scored their first goals as Rebels 56 seconds apart in that match.
  • Pontieri, Bock and Katie Ramsden have each scored once through two matches; Audrey Shackelford, Maizy Kluksdal and Sarah Granno have each assisted.
  • Ole Miss has outscored opponents 3-1 and kept both opponents off the board in the first half.
  • The Rebels hold a 30-13 shot advantage and a lopsided 17-1 edge in corner kicks.

Scouting Charleston

The Cougars finished 2025 at 8-6-3 overall and 4-3-2 in Coastal Athletic Association play, scoring 30 goals on 304 shots while allowing 17 and posting seven shutouts. Bella Antonio led the way with five goals, four assists and 14 points, with Avery Nassetta, Emma Wennar and Maggie Heffernan each adding five goals.

Charleston opened this season with a 3-1 win over Southern Utah — Antonio scored twice — then drew 1-1 with USC Upstate on a Caitlyn Toubia equalizer. Christian Michner is in his 17th season leading the program.

Between the Posts

Taylor Prigge returns after five appearances and four starts last season, posting a team-best .750 save percentage with 21 saves and a shutout. She’s joined in the goalkeeper room by Appalachian State transfer Anna Claire Jacobi and Michigan transfer Sienna Smart.

Preseason Recognition

Pontieri was named to the 2026 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy watch list, one of 45 midfielders and seven SEC players selected. The North Florida transfer led the ASUN last season in assists, shots, shots on goal and game-winning goals.

Five Rebels — Bock, Ava Ghoreishi, Shackelford, Jenna Studer and Alena Watts — made the 2026 SEC Soccer Preseason Watch List, all in their first season at Ole Miss.
