The Southeastern Conference published its preseason coaches’ all-conference selections Wednesday, and Ole Miss claimed eight total spots across the first, second and third teams.
The coaches landed on exactly the same seven players the media selected back in July, and placed each of them on the identical team. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, running back Kewan Lacy and defensive lineman Will Echoles made the first team.
Linebacker Suntarine Perkins was a second-team pick, joined there by Lucas Carneiro — who accounts for the eighth spot by being named at both place kicker and kickoff specialist. Offensive lineman Patrick Kutas and defensive lineman Kam Franklin were named to the third team.
Ole Miss opens the season Sunday, Sept. 6 against Louisville at 6:30 p.m. CT at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
